Welcome to Arlington Band & Orchestra!

For over 75 years the Arlington Band & Orchestra program has been serving students.

The Tradition Continues With YOU!!!

Welcome to a wonderful musical community!

The Arlington Central School District is well-known for its music program both in New York State and nationally. Our orchestras and bands have achieved highest honors and won competitions at the state, regional, and national levels! In addition to learning to play an instrument and being part of an ensemble, students learn important skills such as perseverance, dedication, work ethic, collaboration, and goal setting. Colleges always take notice if a student has been a part of Arlington's music program.

Arlington has been awarded one of the Best Communities in Music Education in the United States many times!

This website will help guide you choose the best instrument for you.
After you watch the above videos, follow the steps below:

1 - Look through ALL of the instrument families (linked at the top of the page) and learn about all of the instruments that you can choose from.

2 - Explore the games below.

This link asks you to listen to a beat and tap along with it on your keyboard. The computer sound will slowly get quieter, but you'll keep tapping the beat in a steady way. This will test to see how close to the original beat you can stay!

This playlist has many different videos that are playing different tones. Some are low and some are high. Which tone sounds the most pleasant to you? Do you prefer lower tones or higher tones?

This link will test your pitch sensitivity. It will play two notes one after the other. After you listen to both notes, tell the test if the second note was higher or lower than the first one. Some of the notes will sound like they're the same note - but listen closely and you'll hear a slight difference! (You will need Adobe Flash for this website to work.)
